A Medicare option that puts money in your account — available through your employer's Chamber membership.
Because your employer belongs to the Greater South Florida Chamber of Commerce, you now have access to a Medicare Advantage Medical Savings Account (MSA) plan — at no monthly cost to you.
The strengths of a Medical Savings Account
If you've looked at other Medicare Advantage plans before, the MSA has a few meaningful differences worth understanding.
$0 monthly premium
You don't pay anything to have this plan. In fact, it's the plan that pays you.
You receive money
The federal government deposits dollars into your MSA for your deductible or qualified medical expenses. Leftover funds roll over to you next year.
No provider network
Visit any provider or facility that participates in Medicare and is willing to bill the plan — about 97% of providers nationwide.
100% coverage after deductible
Once your deductible is met, the plan covers 100% of Medicare-approved hospital (Part A) and medical (Part B) costs for the rest of the year.
How your MSA works, year to year
Confirm eligibility
You'll need Medicare Parts A and B, and to keep paying your Part B premium.
Enroll at no cost
There's no monthly premium to join the plan through your employer's Chamber membership.
Funds are deposited
The federal government deposits money into your MSA account for the year.
You use it toward care
Use those funds toward your deductible or other qualified medical expenses, at any Medicare-participating provider.
Extra funds roll over
Once your deductible is met, the plan covers 100% of approved costs — and anything left in your account carries into next year.
Before you make a decision
No one should make a healthcare decision from a single email. Here are a few common questions to start with — your advisor can walk through the rest.
Who is eligible for this plan?+
Employees and retirees of a Greater South Florida Chamber of Commerce member business who are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, and who continue paying their Part B premium.
Is my spouse eligible too?+
If your spouse is also Medicare-eligible or approaching eligibility, they can be evaluated for the same plan — your advisor can confirm the details for your situation.
How is this different from a Medicare Supplement or other Medicare Advantage plan?+
Unlike many Medicare Advantage plans, an MSA has no provider network — you can see any provider who accepts Medicare. It also deposits money into your own account rather than charging a monthly premium.
What happens to money I don't spend?+
It stays in your account and rolls over to the following year — it isn't forfeited.
Should I compare this to other options first?+
Yes. Your advisor can walk through the MSA alongside Medicare Supplement plans, other Medicare Advantage plans, and Part D prescription drug plans so you can see the full picture before deciding.
